My name is Penny and together with my husband, Pete, I am pleased to bring you this online version of our gorgeous kids clothing and toy store Whoops a Daisy, which is located in the pretty central Victorian town of Castlemaine.
Pete and I grew up, met and were married in Castlemaine before leaving for a year-long trip around Australia in 1997. One month into our trip we arrived in Perth - we loved it so much we stayed for 12 years, during which time we owned and operated several successful businesses. Also during this time, we managed to find the time to have three beautiful children, Jack, Mischa and Sophie. That's where the passion for baby and childrens clothing comes from!
Wanting to give the kids the wonderful, peaceful country environment we enjoyed as youngsters, we decided to return to Castlemaine in 2008. When we did, we found our local kids' clothing and toy store, Whoops a Daisy up for sale. After long discussions it was decided we would have a role reversal ... we would buy Whoops a Daisy and I would go back to work full-time, running the business, while Pete would stay at home in his new role of full-time dad. All of a sudden my life was all about kids jeans, Lark hand crocheted blankets and Huggalugs leggings! And I love it!
